A History of Cocktails – British Edition – by The Tasting Class
September 15, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm UTC+4
AED350The debate on where the cocktail originated is contentious. America stakes its claim to the cocktail’s surge in popularity in part through the work of Jerry Thomas, often heralded as the Father of bartending, and the first printed definition of the term in 1806. The Brits, however, maintain that March 20th 1798 was the day “cock-tail” entered the English vocabulary, etched in The Morning Post and Gazetteer, a long-defunct publication of London.
Wherever your allegiance, cocktails are now, indisputably, a global phenomenon. Join The Tasting Class as we teach you the origins of some of Britain’s most quintessential cocktails. Learn the stories behind them, the recipes that define them, and techniques to make them like a pro.
