Three bottles, perfect for patio sipping
This October,
Dubai Duty Free shines a spotlight on two Tuscan labels from Col d’Orcia—one of Montalcino’s historic estates and
Tuscany’s largest certified-organic producer—plus a vibrant
Rosé d’Anjou from France’s Loire Valley. Here’s why these bottles deserve a place in your carry-on. Col d’Orcia sits in southern Tuscany, on the slopes around the medieval hill town of
Montalcino. The estate faces the
Orcia River, which marks the southwest edge of the Brunello zone. Warm, sunny days, cooling night breezes, and well-drained soils ripen grapes fully while preserving freshness—ideal for both vibrant whites and beautifully balanced reds.
Everything you love about Italian Pinot Grigio with a Tuscan twist. Because Montalcino is a touch warmer than the classic northern Pinot Grigio zones, this bottling gains a bit more body and mid-palate richness without losing its clean, citrusy edge. Think pear and lemon zest, with a gentle almond note.
A Tuscan original that blends the region’s star Sangiovese with Ciliegiolo, a charming, lesser-known local grape whose name nods to cherry-like aromas. The result is bright, fresh, and tangy wine, with red cherry, and a lift of herbs. It’s a summer-friendly red you can serve lightly chilled to make those crunchy red-fruit notes pop.
Anjou lies in the heart of the Loire Valley. Rosés from Anjou tend to show more color, a touch more body, more flavour, and more zippy acidity compared with the paler, ultra-delicate Provence style. This cuvée is made from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon—grapes we often see in full-bodied reds. Dubai’s beach clubs and terrace dining make rosé a local favorite, so why not branch out and explore this classic Loire style?
From organically farmed Montalcino hillsides to the cool, slate-streaked Loire, October’s selections are especially well-suited to sipping under the sun as we head into the Dubai winter. This October, as you’re passing through the airport, stop by Dubai Duty Free and stock up on the Wines of the Month. Cheers!
