Just in Time for Beaujolais Day: Discover France’s Finest This Month at Dubai Duty Free

By November, 03 2025
This November, Dubai Duty Free delivers a little taste of France — just in time for Beaujolais Day, that joyful celebration marking the end of the grape harvest in France.
We’re talking about three delicious wines that capture the spirit of French winemaking: two from Burgundy’s iconic Maison Louis Jadot, and a beautifully refreshing rosé from Provence. Whether you’re a frequent traveller or simply love discovering new wines, this month’s selection has something to make you pause and say santé, and each wine is over delivering at less than 70 AED per bottle.

Louis Jadot — A Burgundy Icon

Let’s start with a name every Burgundy lover should know: Louis Jadot. Founded in 1859, this historic négociant and winemaker has been crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines for over 160 years.
Because vineyard plots in Burgundy are famously small — a result of Napoleonic law, which required land to be divided equally among all heirs — the region is full of micro-parcels owned by many different families. To manage this complexity, négociants like Louis Jadot buy grapes and wines from these small growers, blending and bottling them to create beautifully balanced, commercially viable wines that still express their regional character.

The White of the Month: Louis Jadot Bourgogne Aligoté

While Chardonnay reigns supreme in Burgundy, there’s another native white grape that deserves a moment in the spotlight — Aligoté.
This expression is round and fruit-forward, with flavours of yellow apple, lemon zest, and a delicate mineral finish, wrapped up with a subtle kiss of oak. When we tasted it, we were expecting something simple, zesty, and light — but we were pleasantly surprised by its roundness, weightier body, and impressive complexity.

The Red of the Month: Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages

Now, here’s where things get timely. The third Thursday of November marks Beaujolais Day, when the first wines of the recent French harvest — Beaujolais Nouveau — are released and celebrated around the world.
This month’s featured red, the Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages, is a perfect nod to that tradition. While Nouveau wines are fun, fruity, and meant to be enjoyed immediately, the “Villages” label signals something more refined.
The grapes come from several top-quality vineyard sites, giving the wine greater depth and structure while maintaining that signature Beaujolais juiciness. It’s made from the Gamay grape — once dismissed as too light and simple, but now enjoying a well-deserved glow-up as winemakers refocus on quality and concentration.
Expect aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and a soft, silky finish — a wine that’s both easy to drink and impressively elegant. Chill it slightly before serving, and you’ll see why Beaujolais deserves every bit of its comeback — and why it’s the red wine for warm weather.

The Rosé: Château Gassier Esprit Gassier, Provence

To round out the lineup, Château Gassier’s Esprit Gassier Rosé brings a touch of Provence sunshine to your glass. Pale pink and effortlessly chic, it’s brimming with aromas of wild strawberry, white peach, and a hint of lavender.
This is classic Provence rosé — crisp, delicate, and perfect for sipping outdoors or pairing with light meals. And best of all, it’s available at a fantastic price at Dubai Duty Free this month.
