Dubai Duty Free's Wines of the Month: July Edition

By July, 02 2025

July is here, the summer vibes are in full swing, and Dubai Duty Free has a new set of wines on promotion for the month. As always, the selection features a red, a white, and a rosé, each bringing incredible quality, character, and value. Whether you’re heading off on holiday, or looking for something new and delicious to try, these wines are well worth popping in your travel bag.

Château L’Aumérade Rosé – Côtes de Provence, France

Rosé is the unofficial wine of summer, and Château L’Aumérade is one of the true icons of the Provençal style. This historic estate is part of the exclusive “Cru Classé” classification of Provence, a recognition of consistent quality and heritage dating back centuries with connections to King Henry IV.

Their rosé is made from a classic southern French blend: Grenache, Cinsault, and Rolle. Grenache and Cinsault are Mediterranean grapes that love the heat. They bring juicy red berry notes without too much colour, ensuring that signature Provence blush tone. Rolle, the white grape in the blend, is the secret weapon here. It adds a delicate aromatic lift with floral notes, citrus peel, and a hint of white peach, balancing the fruit with fresh acidity and a subtle, saline minerality.

This is exactly what you want to be drinking by the pool or while indulging in a crunchy salad or simply prepared fresh seafood.

Flagstone Free Run Sauvignon Blanc – Western Cape, South Africa

Flagstone Wines is a true story of innovation, located in an old dynamite factory once owned by the De Beers diamond mining company. Today, the winery is now a hub of creativity and sustainability in the heart of the Western Cape.

The Free Run Sauvignon Blanc is made using only the free-run juice; the purest juice that flows naturally from the grapes before pressing. That gentleness preserves the wine’s vibrant fruit and nuanced floral aromas. The grapes are sourced from coastal vineyards, where cool ocean breezes from the Atlantic help slow down ripening and lock in zippy flavour and aromatic lift.

In the glass, this Sauvignon Blanc is a burst of freshness: lime zest, passion fruit, and green apple, with that classic note of cut grass and crushed flint. It’s piercingly crisp and energetic, with a dry finish that makes it a winner with seafood, green veg, and goat cheese. For lovers of bold, expressive whites, this one will hit the mark.

Kaiken Ultra Malbec – Mendoza, Argentina

The red wine of the month comes from Kaiken, the Argentine project of Aurelio Montes, the acclaimed Chilean winemaker who helped put Chilean wine on the global map. An adventurer and licensed pilot, Montes scouted vineyard sites from the air, eventually crossing the Andes in search of a new challenge. He found it in Mendoza and called the project Kaiken after the wild geese that migrate between Chile and Argentina. In Mendoza, high altitude, intense sunlight, and dry, rocky soils produce unrivalled Malbecs. We love this wine for its intense blackberry and cocoa aromatics complemented by velvet-smooth texture. It’s a wine that’s big but balanced, a crowd-pleaser for BBQs, grilled meats, or slow-sipping in the evenings.

From a French rosé with Cru Classé status to a South African Sauvignon Blanc with explosive personality (literally), and a trailblazer Malbec, July’s Wines of the Month offer something for every palate and occasion. And the best part? They’re all on promotion this month at Dubai Duty Free, so you can pick up something world-class without blowing the travel budget.

Happy travels—and even happier tasting. Santé!
