As a wine enthusiast, you know that California is a powerhouse in the world of wine. We’re thrilled to share that The Tasting Class is now offering the Capstone California wine course, a unique program designed to help you unlock the secrets behind one of the globe’s most influential wine regions.

Why California Wines?

California is a game-changer. They made history as the first region outside of Europe to be celebrated for producing premium, world-class wines. Today, the state offers an amazing range of wines—from budget-friendly, everyday bottles to some of the most exquisite and highly prized bottles. This course is about exploring that rich spectrum and learning what makes California wines truly special.

What’s in the Course?

Developed in partnership with a Master Sommelier and The California Wine Institute, the Capstone California course is a progressive four-part series that caters to every level of wine knowledge—from beginners to advanced aficionados. You’ll dive into:

• American Viticultural Areas (AVAs): Understand how California’s expansive and diverse regions are defined, and why these designations matter.
• Geography & Terroir: Discover how factors like coastal climates, high-altitude settings, warm valleys, and even water challenges shape the grapes and the wines they produce.
• Varietal Exploration: Gain insight into the grape varieties that put California on the wine map.
